This March will not be the busiest month for Netflix.  Big new shows such as “Fuller House” and “Love” debuted in February, and perennial hit “Orange is the New Black” does not return until June. “House of Cards” leads the line with a Friday release date, and the rest of the month is left to medium-sized TV shows in return seasons.
The lack of new content in the middle of the month is fortunately matched by a short list of titles leaving the streaming site.  The select TED talks Netflix currently streams, but won’t be available after this month.  This is a good month to spread out your binge watching, or as Freddy from “House of Cards” would put it, slow bleed it for better taste.

“House of Cards” – Season 4 (Friday)

Netflix’s biggest show returns at the beginning of the month, and here lies the reason the rest of the month’s debuts feel underwhelming.  There’s no need to ruin new content by releasing it underneath the powerhouse of its most popular show.  You’ll be seeing Frank Underwood as the top suggested banner ad when you log onto Netflix for most of next month. President Underwood does not like to share his viewers.

“Daredevil” – Season 2 (March 18)

The R-rated side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe returns starring Charlie Cox as the blind lawyer-turned-super hero of “Hell’s Kitchen.” “Daredevil” was one of 2015’s biggest Netflix shows, and despite the fact it came from Marvel, its success was somewhat unexpected. “Daredevil” has, by far, the most gratuitous violence of any Marvel show or movie.  By pushing its boundaries with an older target audience, Marvel discovered that people will really watch whatever they produce.  On with the entertainment world domination.

Trailer Park Boys: Season 10 – March 28

Netflix continues its run of show revivals with the beloved Julian, Ricky and Bubbles.  The show came back in 2014 after six years off the small screen for its 8th season. Both of the first two Netflix seasons —the show’s 8th and 9th — got fantastic reviews, and its 10th is sure to continue the success. It is unclear whether or not it has been renewed for a 10th season, but season 10 has not been marketed as a finale, and this show never seems to have trouble with new content.

Leaving: All of the TED talks

Not much leaves Netflix next month besides the bevy of TED talks that you can watch on YouTube anyway.  Other than those, March will not lose any important movies or TV shows to binge before they’re gone.

Netflix has no interest with competing against itself, so it’s leaving most of March for the reign of Frank Underwood and “House of Cards.”
