Syracuse hires Eugene Tulyagijja as basketball data analyst

Syracuse men’s basketball has hired Eugene Tulyagijja, a 2024 graduate of SU, as its team data analyst, the program announced Monday.

Syracuse men’s basketball has hired Eugene Tulyagijja as its team data analyst, the program announced Monday. Tulyagijja graduated from SU in the spring with a bachelor’s degree in sport analytics. Now, he will serve on second-year head coach Adrian Autry’s staff.

Tulyagijja’s role with the Orange includes working directly with the coaching staff and front office, providing in-depth data on both player and coaching performance as well as advanced scouting metrics. He is also being tasked to evaluate the Name, Image and Likeness values of high-school prospects and players within the transfer portal.

He was previously an analytics intern for the men’s basketball program as an undergraduate at SU. He also served as the head student manager of the team.

Tulyagijja gained experience working with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ analytics department in summer 2022. He also was an analytics writer for Sports Illustrated’s Draft Digest from August to December 2023, making player development reports. And, since November 2023, Tulyagijja has constructed pre-draft analytics reports for the William Morris Endeavor, an entertainment agency. He’s given the agency insight on numerous NBA lottery selections, per Syracuse’s press release.



Tulyagijja first became heavily involved with basketball in December 2014. He coached with the youth program SSBA Basketball in Bangkok, Thailand, assisting summer camps and conditioning training. According to the press release, Tulyagijja helped increase camp registration by 24% during his time there.
