Syracuse’s game against Canisius, which has been suspended since April 3, will be resumed on Tuesday, May 3 at 4:30 p.m. in Buffalo, New York.
The game is tied at 10 with 6:05 remaining. Just before the game was postponed due to weather, the Golden Griffins scored three straight goals to tie up the Orange. SU sophomore attack Riley Donahue had two goals and two assists before the stoppage in play.
The game will not conclude until after the Orange return from Blacksburg, Virginia for the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, which will be played April 28 to May 1.
No. 4 Syracuse (12-3, 4-1 ACC) had originally rescheduled its game against Canisius (7-5, 4-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic) from April 5 to April 3 because SU had more competition dates than the NCAA allows, head coach Gary Gait said. That meant Syracuse hosted Duke at noon, won 14-12 and then boarded a bus to Buffalo to take on Canisius just a few hours later.
The Canisius pause came amid of Syracuse’s current five-game win streak.
Before Canisius, Syracuse stares down home games against No. 3 North Carolina and Louisville, a road test at Cornell and the ACC tournament.
